On the 17th October 2010 'The Goatkeeper' attended the AGM of the Golden Guernsey Goat Society. I had a great time basking in the warm Autumn sunshine and hob-nobbing with the great n good of the Golden Guernsey world. There was lots of thought and discussion about the future of the Golden Guernsey and how best to manage future breeding. Whilst it was wonderful to see GG people, the real highlight of the day was the presentation of a trophy to 'The Goatkeeper' :-)).

The award in question is 'The Ashrose Cup - For best Golden Guernsey Mother & Daughter'. This was earned by Daylight Serene and her kid Bluehills BriarRose, primarily for their achievements at the Golden Guernsey National Breed Show 2010.

Despite the fact that the competition was far from fierce this year, I'm still very happy that in the first year of showing we've taken home some silverware. I hope it's set a precedent for the future.
