Our EnvironmentThe Bluehills Herd graze the rolling hills of North Herefordshire not far from the town of Leominster. We live in a very rural location and we're surrounded by acres of cereals. Last year it was oilseed rape. Fluorescent yellow as far as the eye could see. Even inside the house there was an eerie glow. This season all we can see is wheat. For the past few months we've been watching it grow through the winter weather and doubting that it'll survive. But our worries have proved unfounded as it's looking tall and strong and is just starting to ripen, the green turning to gold.
![]() To get to our house you have to drive well off the beaten-track and down a rough country lane that's used only by farm vehicles. Most of the time we're lucky to see anyone from day to day apart from the postman. Our lane is a bridleway so we sometimes get riders, and their horses of course :-), on their way up to the top of the hill.
