Once again, the Staffordshire branch of the Rare Breeds Survival Trust (RBST) have been kind enough to invite the girls of The Bluehills Herd to join them at the Staffordshire County Show.

The Ashrose Cup
'The Goatkeeper' attended the AGM of the Golden Guernsey Goat Society. I had a great time basking in the warm Autumn sunshine and hob-nobbing with the great n good of the Golden Guernsey world.

South Western Goat Show & Golden Guernsey National Breed Show 2010
This was the first time we'd been to the Bristol show as competitors and it was great to be on the 'other side of the fence' with all the top quality goats. The girls actually took home a few rosettes. :-)

This year we had four girls kidding and between them they gave us five kids. We had three girls and two boys so we were perfectly happy with that.

October 2008 was the first time that mated the girls and used Aureum Alinus as our stud male. He was very successful to say the least. From what we can tell, he managed to impregnate each of the girls on their first oestrus cycle. In Spring 2009 all of the females had a trouble-free labour and all the kids were live births.
